International Women's Day falls on 8th March each year. It is a day to celebrate the inspirational and courageous work women around the world have done, and continue to do, to secure women's rights and shape more tolerant and equal societies. This year the theme is Pledge For Parity, because whilst women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement across the world, progress towards gender parity has slowed in many places. We must remember that there are still millions of women whose voices go unheard, and who continue to be prevented and excluded from realising their full potential.
